As always, Deker is the man. I vote him for President. He's the reason I kept my Powerbook G4 and I'll be upgrading to a Macbook Pro probably sometime next year. As for my pc, well it sits there...and yeah. Mac is the way to go, for anything.

Cheers!

Hell yeah! Derek knows everything when it comes to apple computers.
I might need a lot of help the coming weeks, Derek.
The Mac Pro finally arrived today, I'm playing with it as we speak!

Loving it so far, it was a bit of a problem to set it up at first... I ordered the bluetooth mighty mouse and keyboard, so when I booted for the first time I couldn't select my languages etc. I don't know what's up with that?
I had to plug in an USB mouse to make my selections and get passed the first few screens, when it was on the desktop it found my keyboard and mouse and everything works perfect now. Kind of reminded me of PC land... The keyboard and mouse didn't come with printed instructions either, so I was on my own on this one!

Then I tried connecting the apple to my PC to transfer all of my music.
I hooked up both machines with a crossover cable, turned off the windows firewalls, but still didn't find my PC in the finder window. After giving each machine a static IP and using the 'Connect to a new server' thingy in Finder I found my machine and was able to transfer everything...

I've added you on both iChat and Adium, I think. Hoop to see you there soon.

Nice, it should be running smoothly!

Is iChat compatible with other pc chat programs like msn or do you have to install also msn on apple (I don't even know if that's possible)

OnCleSAm,

You might wanna check out this deal on eBay for a Macbook in black with 100GB HD.

Cheers!

I believe iChat only works with AIM contacts, but there's ways to get it working with other IM services. Found one here - http://allforces.com/2005/05/06/ichat-to-msn-through-jabber/

Yeah, you CAN add msn clients to it with that jabber method...
everyone just uses Adium though.

I've heard rumors that somewhere next year iChat will support MSN clients natively. That would be nice, the program is much slicker than Adium.

Thanks zerimar, although I'm probably gonna go with either a refurbished Macbook Pro or (if they get to release it in late september) the new MBP with Core 2 Duo with a student rebate. Yay for school!

Hooray for NL for getting a Mac Pro! I plan on getting one myself soon, with the x1900 card. And a Dell 24" monitor. Which NL also has.

And hooray Sidez for getting a Mac too. And Onclesam for planning on it! Macs for everyone!

You can get MSN for OSX, or use Adium like was mentioned.
