Yeah, that one was over September 16th, and I don't think they really covered the newer iPods. It only went on for about a day or two more after the new iPod was released.

I heard Microsoft was going to kill the iPod anyway.

Guess you're refering to the Zunes or originally the Toshiba Gigabeat

Yeah, the one that doesn't even work with their whole "plays for sure campaign". And the one that has 3 paragraphs of disclaimers under all their announcements so far saying that they can't guarantee the actual product will do any of the things they are advertising. And that when it comes out it may have some or none of those features, etc.

Well I thought I'd revive this thread with a question here. When I go to the Apple Store, I notice that the desktops have a center embossed location for some icons. I was wondering how they do that.

It never dawned on me to ask them as I got carried away looking at so much, but I was wondering if someone here might know. Nothing major, but I'd like to have it to access my icons faster.

I went through my system settings and didn't find anything in there to do this, but I thought it was cool and convenient. Does anyone have a clue? Thanks for your time.

Cheers!

Not sure what you're refering to though. Maybe a little more detail?

In the middle of the screen is a little rounded rectangle shape and there are like 4 icons in it for Genius Bar, Support Help, stuff like that.

It should be one of those 3rd party app launcher. Might wanna check out VersionTracker.com or MacUpdate.com. It should be there somewhere. Personally, I prefer to use QuickSilver. Basically you type anything(almost) you wanna get on you Mac on the launch screen (kinda like spotlight) to access it.

I checked out MacUpdate, there's a bunch of app launchers there.
