"Noting that the increasingly shrewish Miss Dowd had also sneered at the White House explanation that Bush got into Harvard Business School despite the fact that his father had not gone there (Dowd claimed that the Bush name was legacy enough), Miss Coulter turned the tables. She cited the failure of Dowd's boss, Arthur (Pinch) Sulzberger of Jayson Blair notoriety: He couldn't win admission to Harvard even though, like Bush, he bore a famous name as a member of the family that has controlled the New York Times for almost a century and a half, or even to Columbia University, where his father was a legacy. Coulter summed up: "(Those must have been some low SAT scores.) Maureen might want to stay mum on the subject of dumb rich kids, at least for the next three or four decades." http://www.newsmax.com/showinside.shtml?a=2003/5/25/102201 |

Yep... that about sums it up. I thought this whole prep school and private school thing was common knowledge? You really think Paris Hilton would ever go to a community college? Regardless of her grades (I know this is a dumb example) I would be surprised if she didn't get into anything less than Yale. It's all money, family, and ties for those people. The Bush family has been in politics for a few generations. Before Bush sr. was pres he was running the CIA - you don't don't run the CIA by going to community college, nor get put into a cabinet with "good grades". It's pretty much a who you know and where you been, and who is your family kind of deal. But the topic has gone to Bush bashing. In my opinion, I don't think the war is over either. Capturing Saddam will have an impact, but there is still some turmoil, and it doesn't take very many car bombs or bombers to cause a lot of panic. and what's with this only the US decides who can invest in the rebuilding of Iraq? after the US defied UN orders and then turns around and tells the UN it should be responsible for helping rebuild Iraq? Who is Bush kidding? This is turning into some big business decision by the US office, at the expense of the Iraqi people. I still think Bush is a bad president and i hope he doesn't get elected again. |

Yep .... Donald and Saddam were once allies, and where do you think Saddam got most of his war machine? The black market? not. It's been happening several times since I can remember. Once a "pawn" of the US decides to go on their own - they get ousted. We have Noriega sitting in a US prison. He was put into power by the US government and ousted on drug charges. I guess he was getting inthe way of all the rogue US agents running the Colombian cocaine cartel.

i just have to quote you on that one.. What is that all about? Yes, alcohol affects you, but serisouly man! Why do you think cocaine IS illegal? why do you think everyone who isnt taking it, or selling it, is trying to get it off the streets!? Yes, because its highly addictive and way more dangereous than alcohol. Dont protect Bush with such a comment, thats more of a joke thatn anything else.. In any other given situation i bet you would have taken cocaine as a bad thing as well, but this "protect america" thing, apparently blinds you? Or am i completely wrong? |

"the life"? "their lives"? And where did you get that figure from? And what does it mean? You're not saying that American soldiers have killed 20.000 Iraqis, are you? If you want to state facts, you'd better have an accurate figure. Otherwise forget it. I'm guessing you mean 'everything' in place of 'anything'. Everything may have been nice for you sitting at home with your computer and coffee, but as long as saddam was in power there were civilians getting killed. The Iraqis are grateful that he is now out of power because now they have a chance to be treated like humans - something that everyone deserves. tom |

I'm sure he meant that the US actually funded Hussein during that time, and that the warfare and killing was ok because it was in America's interest then.
