pffft, a designer forum and nobody has a Mac. pfft i say, pfft..

Well all except for me of course. I only have a G3, but my iMac is coming....*drool*

Amen, if you are going buy a PC and want any type of performance at all, for goodness sakes, do not buy a compaq.

Also like somone else said, don't get the MX cards. They are watered down and weak. The GeForce 4 MX is probably no faster than a slower model GeForce 2.

You can most likely get a much better deal at a custom pc builder, such as www.alienware.com www.ibuypower.com www.geekgeek.com www.falcon-nw.com www.hypersonpc.com or someplace like that. They use top-quality parts, instead of the OEM crap that Compaq uses. Definitely the way to go.

yea my friend told me i could just buy the parts myself and put it together for like 713 w/ S&H from newegg, but i'll check those links too. thanks

only one of those sites i got to around a level i think i can spend is the ibuypower...but is this a reputable company? i've heard of them all except this one and geekgeek

I think PCGamer just reviewed an iBuypower system... and it was good.

HP is no better than Compaq. You won't get a high-performance system from any of the major manufacturers. I mean they might be fast, but compared to a similar system from any of the companies above, it will be trash.
