P3 600 Mhz 384 MB SDRAM Geforce 2 MX 512? To me that still probably won't be enough. I'm slowly building up to 1GB of ram. |

I have a PIII 866 and only 128 megs of ram. :( And a 19" monitor. And a GeForce video card. Amen, if you are asking for what specs you should have to play those games, like if you are buying a new system, then just get the fastest thing available... Like a P4 2.4ghz or something. And a Geforce 4 Ti 4600 video card. It's $400 by itself, but worth it in my opinion. Especially since the next Doom game is going to require a GeForce 3... Then every other company will license the engine, and then every new game will require a GeForce 3. |

P4 - 1.4 GHz 512 MB - PC800 RAM Dual 17's Dual Geforce 2 MX400 - 64MB ea. SCSI UW Hard Drive system (3 x 18GB) 2 additional cooling fans on the case - loud! The SCSI stuff carried over from the system I used in my recording studio a couple of years ago. Not so necessary for graphics work, but since I already had them... I think 512 MB of RAM is not too much for you at all. Especially if you ever plan to use Photoshop along with say Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Flash, oh and WinAmp! Then the extra RAM will come in handy when multi-tasking. Besides, RAM is relatively cheap so stock up for the winter! |

RAM depends on your OS. if you're using 98 more than 256 is a waste, it can't manage it. i'm currently running athlon 800mhz 19" mitsubishi monitor 256mb RAM tnt2 Plextor 24x cd-r win2k |
