A ? for all you designers.... or maybe

if you think about it nobody is self taught, if you honestly can say you were born, and lived without taking in any aspect of design right up until you got photoshop, or even ms paint... then i'll believe you were self taught, however i know i developed my skills by seeing things done in a certain way and tried to do them myself, or when i use typography i'll be referring to a book....

When I think "self-taught" I feel like that is someone who did not go to design school, or take organized classes on learning photoshop etc.

I consider myself self taught, as I've never taken a design class, however now that I'm getting in more backend and db driven sites, I'm starting to be able to use what I learn in school (current computer science student at UCSB).

BTW:
Whats up with all the people here using note pad?? Is that like the "hardcore" "cool" thing to do these days. I worked for a huge consulting company in Los Angeles for a while, and it was the same thing in their Integration section there........

I'd get comments like ohh you use golive, thats not real coding .......

My reply:
Yeah...whatever...like html is "really" coding in the first place

I just don't understand how notepad makes sense in a productivity driven environment. I can whip something out in half the time using a visual editor.....
