Any design classes are beneficial, typically. Your "pseudo artisitic/marketable" needs definition, however.

(this is a little off topic but you and others may benefit from this jumble so - bear with me while I rant a bit....)

Hey Marble - you almost have to sell out. At least a little. It's called paying bills and basic survival. You wanna drink cheap 40's and eat Ramen and Mac & Cheese forever? Yeah, me neither.

So, I sold out. I went to college (B.A. Art 1998), and now I work doing corporate design. "Enemy!" I used to say. Now I scream "paycheck!"

Keep in mind, though. I love what I do. Essentially, I draw pictures for a living, for chrissakes! And, I still find lots of time to create all kinds of crazy photoshop art that really has no purpose but for my own damn enjoyment. I draw, paint and write, too. But now, I can afford to get good materials when I need, go to some really great shows and concerts, and now I drive a 96 VW instead of a 71 VW.

about covers it. I guess they were beneficial...

Hehe.... I was merely being a bit sarcastic about the selling out.... I can relate. I just had a meeting with a collection agent that wants me to redesign his logo. Something I wouldnt have ever thought I'd do five years ago and as I am bulding my resume (well working on it) I am realizing where I lack in the commercial industry and that is relating to those who need the industry. ie those with the money that support our efforts. Sorry if my comment came off like I was bashing anyone....
That is partly why I was asking about those kinds of classes in particular.
Laters.

deker, everybody knows al gore invented HTML when he invented the internet...jeez, try to pull a fast one on us.

what people don't know is that al gore also invented photoshop, while trying to edit his CD collection from his NAZI wife, Tipper. He went out and bought NWA Straight Outta Compton and Tiipper got all pissed, so he made it into a Carly Simon CD cover to hide it using Photoshop 1 on an old Apple II...betcha didn't know that!
