A ? for all you designers.... or maybe

This should be a poll...jking.
I am just curious how many of you all are primarily self taught in design?
I didnt touch Pgmker or Photoshop much until last summer when our graphic designer was canned and guess who got stuck with design for clients? (I work at a recording studio so I started CD design work. Been a royal headache, but now I am starting to get the hang of it...

Actually, it depends on the designer whether he has that creativity to get that imagery done. I don't think creativity can be taught, its just whether you have it or you don't.

Taught myself HTML 8 years ago (in Notepad, and still use it). Been teaching myself graphics (in Photoshop) for the last couple of years. And been teaching myself PHP for about the last year.

edit: Well, websites have taught me some, but for the most part I've taught myself through practice. HTML I learned through viewing sources of web pages and realizing what each thing did. HTML Goodies (.com) taught me what I didn't know.

Self taught, started on photoshop about 10 or 11 months ago. I self taught my self HTML about 2 years ago also only using Notepad and am currently learning PHP.

i taught myself too... I started about a year ago, just with making websites in notepad. Learnt some HTML in school though...

I learnt photoshop by doing tutorials etc.

yeah, self-taught..PS and HTML.. (HC notepad-freak)..JavaScript, and just starting with PHP.. same goes for flash..

I don´t believe that you can be told to learn something, just learn by doing (mistakes)..lol

self taught html basics about 2-3 years ago then taugh myself the rest about a year ago along with ps. php ive been meaning to learn but havent found much time lately :(

HTML - Since 95. I started at the college of charleston and got an email address with the email address came 5mb of space for a website. I had seen websites before. So, I thought what the heck. I didn't use notepad though. I used Vim.

Graphic design. Started using paintshop pro because it came with a book I had in a college class. A couple of years later, I played with photoshop in a class I was taking and I have been using it since.
