it is suprising to think you are reading a new thread and then find a post from yourself that you don't remember writing.

I'm self taught as well, been doing this since 98'. Bounced around in college and the US for awhile studying marketing and programming but this just kind of stuck with me. I mean I like this better. ha!

4 years of graphic design classes and still going. 2 years of photoshop/illustrator/quark class 4 years ago... html, self taught..

Photoshop...2 years.
GoLive...6 months.

I'm actually self taught on HTML, some anyway. I started holding online auctions and wanted my ads to be breathtaking. It's been about a year now, and my ads are increasing my sales.

I just jumped on Photoshop a little under a year ago, and I'm learning through tutorials. Took some time off of college and here I am doing this...and it's very interesting. Confusing, but interesting.

I'm looking at some WYSIWYG editors and stuff, and I've done some sites on free space. Not too shabby. I also read books and ask around, this forum has been great!

I'm self taught ... although I can't do JACK right now since photoshop is :sniff: gone ...

but ... I have my music, so im happy.

oh, anyway. been designing for about 3 years ... i think i learned pretty quick for never really looking at any tuts. i've always drawn though - usually realistic stuff.

music is my main thing though. i play guitar, bass, piano, i've learned a little bit of the violin (never really got into it much), and i produce drum'n'bass constantly ... kinda were all my money goes.

if you think about it nobody is self taught, if you honestly can say you were born, and lived without taking in any aspect of design right up until you got photoshop, or even ms paint... then i'll believe you were self taught, however i know i developed my skills by seeing things done in a certain way and tried to do them myself, or when i use typography i'll be referring to a book....

if its a simple question of has someone knowingly taught me, then no, i'm self taught....

so anyway...
