Defend yourself against what??? Other people with guns? And there are alot of people in America with guns right? Yet there is this sniper who shoots people, it doesn't make him rethink his methods. It doesn't seem to scare him that he isn't the only one with a gun. And personally I believe people don't think of that before they commit a crime. It's like the deathpenalty, does that stop people from doing something illegal? I don't think so... People get so heat up that they can't think straight anymore, it would be better if they didn't had a gun laying around. |

lol @ NL - good point! I'm not going to waste my time typing about the video game thing. Deker said what needed to be said. Lack of responsible parenting is *THE* problem in this country. As far as this gun debate, I still have a few things I want to say. No, you can't take guns away from gun owners, be it legal or not. BUT - you can make it a real bitch for people to acquire a gun - or any weapon, for that matter. For example, we all agree that cars and motorcycles are dangerous if misused, so we must pass a test to use one. Same should be for guns. And, there are a ton of factors that get overlooked that contribute directly to urban gun use - poverty, unemployment, cost of higher education, the "drug war" (again, don't get me started on that falsehood) just to name a few. Oh, and back to the main issue here - I read this morning that 2 men are in custody, and one official said that he does not believe the snipers are still at large. This is good! Maybe now we can get back to arguing about Mac's vs. PC's, huh? :D |

lets go back 50 years......i wasnt alive but im a smart ass and i know what it was like. most people were nice, they were caregiving people that would help their neibors and would normally not do anything wrong. in the south there was racist and stuff and in the cities but besides most kids and people were well manored. now lets jump into a timemachine and come to present day 2002 kids at school kill each other, smoke pot, phuk eachother at 15, shot teachers....talk dirty, gangs, fights, kids to day are the worst they have been in the whole time period of this earth. now lets think what might of caused this......what didnt the kids 50 yrs ago have and what do kids have today...... movies, games, ****ty parents. this is my conclusion.......i think its games , and movies......i myself could play games like that because i wouldnt think second of it and i woulddnt want to be like the people in the games, though i force my selfnot to think that way. but most kids in school will do anything to look cool so they arent thinking straight when they go out and replicate what they see in movies or in games. what you guys & gals think about that later dont call me an idiot...this is a forum where people post there opinions, speak your own dont curse people out |

I think you've been watching too much TV Land. Leave it to Beaver is not an accurate representation of life in the 50's. It's a make believe story. No wonder you have a problem with games... You can't distinguish reality from fiction...

You have a very negative attitude. I think you've played too many video games. Let's sue the game companies for making the games that polluted your fragile, impressionable mind!

banned, you're all over the place, man! You did get one thing right - parenting nowadays sucks. Why? well, I think it's all because divorce rates are higher, cost of living is higher, cost of education is higher, pay is higher, but not at the same scale - therefore, mommy and/or daddy work more, stay home less, see their kids less - while the kids watch tv, smoke pot, screw, drink and shoot kids while their parents are trying to put clothes on their spoiled asses. You cannot blame the frickin' little piece of plastic (DVD or CD) for all that crap. If you do, that would make you like Tipper Gore, and other censors - an IDIOT. again, just my opinion. |
