god...help me please about this effect

I can see both sides of it. I personally am interested in the technique itself, so that I can apply it to other things. For example, a long time ago I read Phong's tutorial on ePlastic. Did this mean that I wanted to steal his technique and copy it all over the place? No...it doesn't. It means that I learned from the technique and have used many of the concepts (texture channels & lighting effects etc) in that tutorial in a lot of different things having nothing to do with "ePlastic".

I guess people that use these forums break into one of two categories. Those who want to steal and those who want to learn. I fall into the latter, as do many other people on here. So the blanket statements some people like to make, don't apply to everyone here.
