actually,

I was suggesting that perhaps some of these "kids" have access to such software because they have an after school job or they use an allowance to pay for it.

Being spoiled is one thing, but who's to say that some of them didnt earn it? Maybe they got it for christmas or birthday. I know when I wanted something that I knew would be considered expensive, my parents would get it for me, but I would only get that, and nothing else. Spoiled? I think not. I worked through high-school to pay my tuition to a private school. I paid my own car payment and insurance. If I got a gift, it was because my parents felt like I deserved it.

Not saying that chances are the kids here didnt warez their photoshop, but it is possible to get an expensive item and not bet a spoiled brat.

You have to remember though bogus, you and I grew up in a different time. We were around long before the internet revolution. My first real computer was a laptop that ran win3.1. My mother bought it. I accidentally discovered BBS when a friend from kentucky told me about them. Seeing as how we grew into computers long before we had the ability to do things like we do now, of course kids are going to have it a bit easier.

I have an extra scanner... It's kinda old... and needs a scsi card to work... but it's yours if you come and get it or pay for shipping!

Or you could buy one at best buy for $40.

We don't have a scsi card, to bad, if we had, and my dad was ok i really would've considered it

It's pretty irritating with my parents, I have enough money to buy a scanner but my dad said he was going to buy a big copy-print-fax-scanner thing, so i'm waiting to see if he's really going to do it.

mr bogus, dont you think that things were the same way when you were a kid and you had what you thought was new technology? i bet your parents and all the old school programmers would have said the same things you are saying now, and im sure it will be the same way in 10 years when a new crop of kids comes in when they have palm pilots that are more powerful than our coputers now*

*just a prediction, dont argue about that part

We also couldn't pirate at all to the degree that its being done today. Kids with gigabytes or even a terabyte or more of warez, movies, and music sitting around on burned cds. We had floppies back then, and the only forms of piracy were incredibly small apps/games/pictures over 2400 baud BBS connections. No matter the times, the stuff that is possible today for kids to get is a whole LOT more than anybody even less than a decade older than them could have gotten at their age (such as me).
