yeah, i'm waiting for the dual G4s, or even a decent speed single, to get reasonable. i've looked around on ebay and it seems like people bidding on macs on there know nothing of the outside world they're getting almost original retail for quiksilver g4s, makes no sense whatsoever.

i will keep an eye out tho, if you see any good deals please drop me a line.

That's because they have aliases that drive the bids up on their own machines.

Skip eBay, man. Talk to a local mac store about anyone wanting to get rid of one, or ask for a demo unit... my girlfriend just bought a new iBook for 750 bucks because it was a demo.

I'll keep my eyes open - the mac dealer I'm using for my g5 is VERY happy with me right now.

CompUSA is the ONLY mac dealer locally where I'm at. The best deals come from the Apple stores which there are not very many of. All of their technicians are Apple cetrified, so return deals are SWEET. I was in one in boston a few months ago when the new powerbooks came out, and they had one that a woman had taken home for under a week, claimed that it didn't sit properly, and requested a new one. The service guys then realized that a rubber foot was missing from one corner of the underside. That of course, being a $.07 repair, was easily fixed, but due to the fact that it was earmarked as an 'open box' or 'refurbished' item, it could only be sold for about $800, as opposed to it's original price of about $1500. That was an in-store only deal, so you see how that can be a sweet deal for anyone who lives near one.
