wheeeeeeeee...

short version - anything you could possibly want to do you can probably do in 3DS Max, provided you learn the software. 96% of users can actually get by with something a whole lot simpler. Case in point, Rustboy

rustboy is bad ass. I love that site.

Pank - I think it's time for a new rule. Cause it's usually the newer people who are asking questions that have been asked dozens of times.

So, with that...I say that the rule should be for new people, before they ask a question about tutorial, tip, software preference, to do a search on it first.

That's a great idea, but I don't think it would ever work. I get the feeling that new people don't read the rules at all. And they just want the answer as fast as possible with the least possible effort. Which means starting a new thread without even considering we have almost a year of archives here with TONS of information already stored in it.

We can always dream though.

how about this....

Any thread that a person with less than 20 posts have to be approved by pank or some other moderator before they are displayed.

If they post something stupid, their post will just be killed.

That would be a lot of work on the mods... Approving threads all day. We shouldn't have to babysit people. If they post here, they should follow the rules and common sense courtesy.

Well in this case this person is far from new it seems. 173 posts, so she wouldn't even fall under that rule.

Plus what sort of punishment can you throw out to repeat offenders of this suposed rule?

I mean if i have a question i usually search google first, than a board. These people aren't stupid newbies, per se, they just aren't used to the idea of *gasp* looking it up themselves. Poking at them a bit, sure, but punishment. Just seems a bit harsh and as Deker pointed out, alot of work on their end.

it is impossible for us to know someone's age, sex, tone of voice, or intentions just by reading posts on a message board.

everyone needs to settle down a bit and not be so jumpy.
