hey zakareli, thanks for the feedback. do I know you? Haha..:p okay, well use a real camera, right? What other camera could I choose, but a good 'ol XL1! Hopefully Canon won't mind, as I won't have access to take pictures of one of those babys anytime soon...;) let me know how you think it looks. I adjusted the film frames and the title, and moved the Feature to the left, although it doesn't look right now for some reason. well, here we have v. 9.3 (10 is yet to come lol) version 9.3 it's still not quite right, more comments will be great. |

Looks good! I like the extra lighting that you placed around the perimeter of the main polygon. That evens out the look of the page, so that not all the interest is focused up top. I agree that the title doesn't stand out as much as it should, cuz of the vivid filmstrip, and the fact that the letters are the same color as the main background. Maybe you could knock down the filmstrip opacity a bit more. It might look good if you moved the left edges of the content sections of "Features" and "Site News" so that they line up with the left-most point of their title bars. Also, I don't know what to change here, but the way the borders jut out on the top reminds me of the roof of a house. :D What if, on the left edge where the border comes in diagonally a bit, if you extended that line behind the filmstrip all the way to the top border? You should start putting some sample text in the content boxes so that we can see how that will look. You'll have scroll bars too, right? -Z- |

"It might look good if you moved the left edges of the content sections of "Features" and "Site News" so that they line up with the left-most point of their title bars." I agree, however, when I put content in, the text should match up on the invisible left alignment of the title, I think. Unless the title was on the left edge, and the text was slightly indented? "Also, I don't know what to change here, but the way the borders jut out on the top reminds me of the roof of a house. What if, on the left edge where the border comes in diagonally a bit, if you extended that line behind the filmstrip all the way to the top border?" lol, it does, doesn't it? So you're saying take out that little upper notch sticking out and make the upper left corner a right angle? I'll try that. "You'll have scroll bars too, right?" This is a part I need help with. I want a scrollbar inside the site news box. I've heard other people say they used frames to do this, but that doesn't sound like a good design implementation to me. Does anyone have suggestions for what I want to do? |

"So you're saying take out that little upper notch sticking out and make the upper left corner a right angle?" Sorry, I meant extend the diagonal line so that it intersects the top border, instead of having it jut back out to the left edge again. (just an idea) For the scrollbars, I wouldn't know how to code it off-hand, but I would search around for some free Javascript code. I would choose that over frames (too messy, too many different source files) and Flash (too hard to update, longer loading time, requires plug-in) any day. |
