hmm, how would you reccommend I include movement? I'm really not familiar with flash or Java or anything like that at all. I had wanted to have some rollovers on the links, but I really don't know how to add animation to a site. Do you have any suggestions or links?

i like the new font, it has a cinema movie type feel, like the cinema atmosphere, its cool, plus its easier to read. I can't really help you with the b&w to color images, that will just take some searching. As for the movement, www.wastedyouth.org (kinda dark appeal) the tv screens are kind of what i was thinking. Some sort of blips and blurs, with flashes or something. It might even be cool to find a few frames of a clear sequence in a movie, and use a few frames for the strip, to show 'still' animation from left to right. i dunno, just ideas.

for the monochromatic images, you could probably pass with just finding some movie shots, putting them in greyscale and add a slight amount of noise. i dont think many people would really notice what movie they were from. but it wouls still be cool to see the vintage stuff.

well, I took into account some suggestions, and I decided to try an effect similar to what we had talked about. Tell me what you think: Version 9 |

Sup cablemotion? It's looking good. The sequence of frames from The Matrix was a good addition. Since they're part of your banner though, I think they're so eye-catching that they somewhat distract from the title. Maybe you could put the title a little lower, and make the sequence of frames more transparent. Also, I think it would be cool if you could replace the outline of the film camera on the left of the film reel with a larger picture of a real film (or even video) camera. I'm picturing the body of camera cropped off along the left edge of the page, and the lens being somewhere around where the current camera is... I know this is kinda a dumb nit-pick, but for consistency it'd be nice if either "Feature of the Month" were left-aligned, or "Site News" was centered. Looking forward to version 10! Z |
