*twitches* and that makes it right? They use taxpayers money to pay for the **** you put on places that aren't yours? Thats the bottom line...crap that isn't yours. I love seeing some of the stuff people do in set aside areas but if anyone puts on a sour face because someone eraced their 'artwork' that was done on someone else property than i slap them. Or atleast think about slaping them ;) I just can stand it when i hear all these kids trying to talk about how 'cool' it is to deface property that isn't theres. |

There is some pretty nice bombings around town here, the council pays the best dudes to make them on huge walls around town and they are phat.

Hey D, It seems you really have a problem with Graffiti......Being an artist, I think maybe you would feel better about it if you learned how it came about in the inner cities.... It's not about ruining peoples property. There is a much deeper social signifigance than a bunch of criminals running around spray painting everything. Sure, there are exceptions to everything. But the majority of the Graffiti Artists I knew were interested in the art and the thrill of letting thousands of people see their artwork. Feeling powerful by letting everyone know whos boss! Unfortunately, many inner city kids didnt have the opportunities to present and show their creativity due to oppression, poverty, over-population as many others from other areas were . It was also a form of letting out aggressions and standing up to "the MAN". Sure maybe it's still not "right" but why put down a piece of "Artistic History" . Sounds kinda weird coming from the mouth of an artist. Graffiti IS an art form and like any artform, it has things you may not like. Why do you feel so personally involved with this? Are you a cop? hehe.. I can remember when I was a kid driving through the city and staring in AWE as a path train went above the Highway....It wasn't dirty, it was beautiful.....I miss it. On the other side of that I hate taking a dump in a bathroom stall and having to look at some big fat marker tag by some hack on the Toilet paper dispenser. But it has its roots, has its good and bad. I feel you need to look into the history of Graffiti. And stop being so grumpy about it....You sound like "Old man Jenkins" down the block, who used to chase us for riding our big wheels across his lawn. Deep breaths dude, Jim |
