Just so you know. AOL proprietary .ART files cannot be seen by anything other than an AOL web browser. I had to use the graphics program ACDSee to view it.

I don't believe AOL requires you to save a file in the .ART format. AOL simply re-saves .GIF and .JPG files into this format for their own use. You only need to make a graphic in .GIF or .JPG format to be able to use it on AOL. It should re-save it itself as an .ART file.

As for how to create such a graphic, this looks to be a re-saved .GIF with some transparency on it. Very easy to create with Photoshop using the "save for web" command and making sure the "transparency" option is checked.

As for how to draw a topless (I'm guessing) anime girl, that will require your own skills at drawing.

Edit: BTW, here's the picture in question, as a GIF for those who can't see it.

Well, you may not know what I'm talking about, but I do.

I know that the file you wanted to show cannot be seen by most people on the internet because it is not in an internet standard format.

create a new document 100 px by 100 px

Make a selection of about 75 px by 75 px

Hit the "D" key to restore default colors

Get the "polygon lasso" and hold [Option] (Alt -windows) while clicking a selection to subtract from the 75 by 75 rectangle selection. You'll want to clip the bottom right corner off the selection.

You have one layer in the "Layers" pallet, name the layer "body" and [command+delete] (control+delete -windows) to fill it with white.

Next create a new layer [command+shift+N] (control+shift+N -windows) name it "bottom" (it will be the blue part across the bottom)

[command+click] (control+click -windows) the "body" layer in the layers pallet. You'll see the selection marquee appear of your original 75 x 75

Go back the the "bottom" layer, Press "M" to get the rectangle selection tool drag a selection to subtract from the 75 by 75 rectangle selection, starting at the top left, stop when there is as much selection left as you would like the banner across the bottom to be. You'll want to encompass EVERYTHING but what will be blue.

Now go >Select>Modify>Contract and contract the selection by 1px. Then get a blue color as your forground and make sure you have the "bottom" layer selected. Then [command+delete] (control+delete -windows) to fill the selection.

Next create a new layer [command+shift+N] (control+shift+N -windows) name it "corner" (it will be the part in the top right corner)

Get the "polygon lasso" and hold [Option] (Alt -windows) while clicking a selection to subtract from the 75 by 75 rectangle selection. You'll want to clip everything but the corner you want to be yellow.

Now go >Select>Modify>Contract and contract the selection by 1px. Then get a yellow color as your forground and make sure you have the "corner" layer selected. Then [command+delete] (control+delete -windows) to fill the selection.

...add a person and some text layers and you are in business.

I wrote this on the fly while building this.

The .PSD file is here in .zip format

I'll go back a make screen caps and put up a tutorial tonight.

I know you are young, and you are just starting with Photoshop, but if you cannot figure out how to make a 75 x 75 rectangle selection. I don't know if I can help you.

Use the RECTANGLE SELECTION TOOL!
