Sorry I missed this thread (badly titled - doesnt give much of a description as to what it is about) sorry, anyway I'm having the same problem (see the thread I've just started) and I think that your right that it could be to do with the Clipboard contents and the ppi's, how can I empty/clear my Clipboard and also change the ppi of the image I'm having problems with ? Many thanks in advance. Bish PS : I'm using PS CS and Mac OS X 10.2.8 if that helps |

This has been stated several times, but when Photoshop acts up, delete your preference file and restart photoshop to build a new one. Thread: http://www.teamphotoshop.com/forum/vbforum/showthread.php?t=17293 Take any advice to "Reinstall Photoshop" or "Your disc is bad" with a grain of salt. First off it's usually something that does not require a re-installation, and your preference file gets stored in the directory after you uninstall PS. So reinstalling within the same directory (default usually) will mean using the same preference file, and having dealt with cd duplication companies over the years, they have a high level of error checking on pressed cd's and it is rare that a disc ever gets pressed "bad" and makes it out the door. But this situation has been mentioned numerous times on this site and the same replies of reinstall, etc. keep coming up, even though it's been mentioned by one of the site guru's 'Utopian23' that the preference file can be a bad guy and may need to be deleted and rebuilt. ~ sorry my rant for the day =) |

You might also want to go to IMAGE>IMAGE SIZE and check the resolution for the document. Be sure it's at 72ppi. So open an new canvas at 72ppi, then recheck it following the steps mentioned, to make sure it's not just flaking out somewhere in the process of setting up. Also when you start your photoshop, hold the "shift" key and dump the preferences. I think it works the same in XP as in previous versions, but I could be wrong. Hope you figure it out. Cheers! |
