First, when you start a new image, make sure it is at 72dpi if you are making normal graphics. That plays a big role on fonts. Next, what font are you using? Some fonts installed on my computer don't even have anything on them, therefore they type blank, you may want to look at that. Some of the other guys probably know more what is going on... just wait a little. Welcome to TeamPS by the way. |

make sure your font isn't the same color as the background to start with. also look in your text pallet and make sure you don't have any funky button selected. welcome to the forum. |

uhm wierd... and it doesn't work even if you don't make that box thingy... Just click on somewhere where you want to start typing. Does that help? And try to use some other fonts too IF it would be that. |

try this: Type something (nevermind if it shows up or not) and click commit. Then check the layers palette to see if your layer is named correctly. If so....then its a visual problem. If its visual: - then punkassbitch isnt the problem (i just tested it, unless your version is corrupt). - 10pt is small!!! if its BIG....you have a resolution issue - turn off the friends background and set the color to black. It'll be easier to see if anything was typed - turn on anti-aliasing. chances are punkassbitch aliased @ 10pt, wont look like much more than a few pixels of noise!! |

I have had this happen before...unfortunately nothing helps once it does that on the image you are working on. You have to open a new image create the text in that image then copy and paste it or drag and drop into the document you are having problems with. It won't be a text layer anymore though. That is all I could do to fix the problem. Mara Hope that helps |

I would just reinstall Photoshop and defragment my hard drive. You would be surprised at how much this can solve. For one thing, when you reinstall Photoshop it will be reset automatically to default settings. If this doesn't work, then you have to start sacrificing chickens and/or other small animals to the computer voodoo gods. ;) |
