heh, mj, now your hard drive can quite literally crash! as for those graphs, i got em right here! http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=MTM= there are several pages to the article, so don't sto on the first page. that is a p4 versus a THUNDERBIRD! (aka athlon) the athlon XPs ae the Thoroughbreds, Palomino's, T-Breds, whatever. i might as well say that intel has always been the king of quake 3, but anything over 150 fps is too much anyway! funny that the little old athlon is kicking ass. |

Psycho, these charts are from LAST YEAR!!! That's like a century ago in computer years. Here are some charts from this month: http://www.pcworld.com/news/article/0,aid,104165,pg,2,00.asp When the new Athlon XPs are tested, we'll see where the "chips" fall . They will probbaly beat the P4 2.8 with the new RDRAM, but not for long -- P4 3.08 will be out in January. Like I said, the tables will keep on turning. Lately, however, intel has been better with multimedia than AMD. After all, an intel system is responsible for the special FX in these movies: Current/Past: Star Wars: Episode II -- Attack of the Clones Men in Black II Minority Report Shrek Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron Lord of the Rings Spider-Man Stuart Little 2 Future: Star Wars: Episode III Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets The Hulk Terminator 3: The Rise of the Machines Rendezvous with Rama Here is the link: http://www.intel.com/pressroom/archive/releases/20020722corp.htm |

damnit...just something for future reference: if you get a game and the "minimum hardware requirements" lists a 16 MB Graphics Card, but you only have an onboard POS 8MB one....the game won't work. |

Who cares what processor was used on which movie. That has nothing to do with anything. If they used an AMD, the effects would have been just as amazing. That's like saying this painting is better than that painting because he used this brush instead of this brush. Or this music is better than that music, because this guy used a more expensive violin than the other guy... psh.
