i had 20 gigs of stuff once, but not anymore, im around 10 gigs not, i cleaned out all my clip art and uncompressed images =( and Badboy, people dont like macs and PC's (whichever one you hate) because they dont understand them and prob. never sat down and done a full 1 month project on it, before i bought my mac i was very uneasy about doing it, i have never used one, then i took a animation and film class at a college for a whole summer and all we used were macs and I LOVED them, it took the getting use to, and i had to learn a whole new OS, but i bought a mac right after that class, you dont like something untill you fullly understand it, and if you did a long project on it just to humor me, and still disliked it then i would say "good atleast you tried" im just asking all mac haters to try a mac, and all PC haters to try a PC i use 4 mediums in my art, PC, Mac, Linix, and good old fashion ruler and pencil =) |

check out my restraint for not typing what I hate in this thread! I don't care what you hate and I don't expect you to give a sh*t about what I hate. I've been here long enough to figure out who I could have a cold one with in this forum, and who I'd bust the friggin beer bottle over... Interesting how threads like this one help form those judgements, I guess. |

ok update on the mysterious folder mover- my prime suspect now is none other than: THE CABLE GUY HIMSELF(no, not jim carey) we moved this weekend and while i was out of town, the cable man came to the house and hooked up my cable connection, well my mother was forced to hook up my computer on the floor because this guy said he needed the computer to hook up the cable...now im not genius but i think if you already HAD a cable on a particular machine, and you already had the cable modem, all the guy has to do is make a friggin outlet. my mom said he was using my computer for over an hour (she thinks he was using it for personal things, like emale) if so.... that would take the cake... |

Y'all are missin' the BIG picture. I've been in the Mechanical Design industry for 12+ years, and I can say with reservation that the MOST valuable thing on your computer is... THE DATA!!!! It's not a worry about someone messin' with your crap--it's about ::hardware failure:: I've seen $30,000 Unix workstations decide to go south. And if your failure is a harddrive, there's only one solution... A GOOD DISASTER RECOVERY PLAN!!!!! Burn some CD's. Make a hundred floppies. If you have multiple systems networked, back up your data periodically from one system to the other. But however you do it, back up your stuff. True story... I saw a company once loose over a $150,000 worth of man hours when they lost their data and didn't have any good backups. Graphics Guy: wanna go out for a brewski next time I'm in Vegas? Or am I on your 'B' list? :D |
