I've never heard any Europeans claim such a thing, but I must tell you that electronica was in fact pioneered in EU (a long time ago) and it has nothing to do with disco. |

Okay, I'm about ten days late with this post, but I just can't pass up the opportunity to comment on music. Here is what I'm diggin' at the moment: Radiohead/Kid-A and Amnesiac (2 bad@$$ experimental albums) Steve Roach/Serpent's Lair and Light Fantastic (serious ambient/trance) King Crimson/In the Court of the Crimson King Massive Attack/Mezanine and No Protection Pink Floyd/Meddle Alice in Chains (a moment of silence for Layne Staley) Phish Stone Temple Pilots/4 Mad Season/Above Out of all of these, the Radiohead albums seem to never leave my CD player. I never really got into them until they U-Turned styles with these two albums. This is the ultimate 420 band. Lates, Justin *PS-All manufactured fluff pop must burn in hell for spreading their $#!t all over the radio waves. Will this crap ever die??? |

Graphicsguy- I've heard The Apex Theory before. I liked the guitar, bass and drum parts but to me, the vocals sucked. I hate the style. It's a sort of wannabe rap and I find it annoying. I'm sure the guy can do some great stuff with his voice, but he isn't on that CD. I don't like rap. I do however, like singers like David Draiman of Disturbed who use their voice as driving rhythmic force.

hey NOA - Agreed. I can't stand that new tune that makes my ears bleed every time I jump in my car (by Apex Theory). I just suggested it since I saw them recently and the live show was pretty good. (Static X, on the other hand - had a drunk ass sound guy that night, so they got upstaged by Apex, irony....) makes you wonder though, if a band puts on a great live show, and then the produced CD sound sucks @ss, why even go into the studio, why hire a producer if all they produce is crap? ...things that keep me up at night... right now, I'm listening to some of that new Korn, some Pennywise, NOFX/Rancid, Sevendust, Satriani, Slow To Surface, and Phatter Than Albert. (dumb name, great LV band) - no bluegrass for my ass. no country or classical either. not my style... and Pink Floyd just puts me to sleep, which at times, is a good thing... |
