Screw the new stuff, go for the old stuff. Iggy Pop Hendrix Bob Dylan Marley The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club is a new band with an Iggy Pop feel to them. Blink 182, Sum 41, Brand New and all those other bands are sh*t. They all just play power chords and sing in high voices. It's all the same sh*t and it sucked then and it sucks now. If you like Enya I would strongly reccomend Stina Nordenstam, she is an amazing vocalist. Seriously, check her out. In my opinion there are very few new, good bands. The White Stripes could be good if the guitarist would play more of his solos. I am so sick of these sh*tty bands getting away with power chords and high voices though. They are all the same and people act like they are some great band. It's crap. EDIT: And if you are looking for some more good bands, download spinner internet radio and listen to the "New Indy" station. |

I just reloaded all my old Nirvana and Rage Against the Machine CDs. :P The only new CD I've listened to is DJ Tiesto's Nyana. |

I definitely agree. And yeah, there's a bunch of new bands that just utterly suck. Brand New definitely isn't one of my favorites. They've got a few good tracks, but overall, I don't think I'd have bought tht CD. BRMC and The White Stripes are...eh. Not bad. I don't care much for the 'Stripes lead singer's voice.Niiiiiiice. Especially the RATM. They never get old.

I don't listen to much new stuff, but here are my favorite new ones: Stratovarius - Any album Something Corporate - North (piano rock) Phantom Planet - The Guest (indy rock) Chris Cagle - Chris Cagle (country) Iron Maiden - Anatomy of Evil (orchestra, not your standard Iron Maiden) |
