L.A. and Oklahoma are warm, south/mid-western states, but Buffalo and New York? They're Northeastern states that are, if nothing else, less cold than where you are in Canada. Buffalo is much further north than NYC, and we're (Rochester) even further north than that. We do however, because of the lakes, get TONS of snow, perhaps more than some places in Canada where the temperature may be colder, but there is less precipitation.

I want a MAJOR snow dump here in PA like we got last year. We've had a week or so of sub—20°F (-7°C) lows; Thursday's supposed to get down to 4°F (-15°C). I'd love to get snowed in with a babe, lots of booze and food, in a week-long Buffalo lake-effect storm. |

The States use both the Imperial and Metric systems. Just walk into a grocery store.. some items have both systems, some just have metric, some have just imperial.

Yeah, Rochester's in the middle of one of those storms. I dunno why people always equate Buffalo with tons of snow. We get as much, if not more than them, and it's not even like Rochester's a small city either. In terms of snow though, we've got like, 2-3 feet of snow on the ground, and it's still like 6 degrees out. and I found out that 4 wheel drive does nothing but SCREW you in weather like this. It's like you're riding in one of those saucer sleds when you're going down the road, especially going around corners. PS. My bro's from Buffalo, and they got no snow...heh heh heh |
