I'm back

I had a crappy week.... - first my computer crashes - then I find out I fried (physycally) a hard drive. Then I realize (with horror) that it's the one I use for backups...- I only realized the it was fried after I had formatted the other one - which also included Satan's SpawnTM (Windows for the innocents).

I take the hard drive to the repair shop - they say about 70% of the data was recovered, I buy another damn thing, install it and....my power supply burns out
I started saving for a Mac.

I swear, I go and buy another supply - and I set up windows and photoshop and all the other stuff - this takes about one day...Then I find out that among the stuff that was not recovered from my old hard drive were passwords and accounts and **** for ftp for client sites and whatnot

I mail a few people, I phone a few people, I wake up some customers on different timezones, I get into an argument with my ISP over stuff I don't want to remember right now, the LC gives me lip for making a mess but things start looking better.

I light a cigarette, pop up a IE window (Opera not installed yet), I type in teamps/forum....whoa - what's the password? - well no worries - I get to the "I lost my password" part - I type in my email.....I wait....I wait....nothing. I repeat the "I lost my password" part - I wait...I wait...nothing....I do it some more, feel like breaking some stuff and go to sleep(nightmares of course.

that was yesterday.
Today I mailed pank - he reset my password - YAY!
I missed you guys

I was so upset - I had to listen to this to smile - how lame is that?

That's just luck, I guess. I've built lots of computers and tinkered with mine plenty... doing things to it one can't even imagine... and it's all working fine.

Damn those retail peices of crap...

But, good that you've fixed everything. :D

I just plugged in my new 160gb Firewire hard drive to my Mac and it immediately popped up on my desktop as a drive. Then I renamed it Cyclops, because my hard drive has one glowing blue eyeball...

Then I copied over 6gb of stuff in a few seconds... Then I pressed Command+spacebar, type "bac" and pressed enter. Which of course launched the program "backup" thanks to Launchbar.

Then in a few more seconds I had set it to automatically backup my address book, email, the settings and preference files for every application on my hard drive, my web sites directory, all of my photos in iphoto, all of my music in itunes, all of my purchased music from the itunes music store, everything in my Documents folder, and a bunch of other stuff. Then I pressed "backup now" and it copied it all over to the backup drive. Then I clicked about 3 times to set it up on a schedule to synchronize all of that stuff every morning at 5:00am.

*Hugs Macintosh*

Oh stop bragging. With Windows I don't need to back anything up... ever.

Deker - you're going straight to hell for making a poor man even more miserable:D

heh....I'm going to buy a Mac - soon as I scrounge some (a lot of) money. I miss the days when I had a 24" Sony and a G4 on my desk (they belonged to the boss:( but hey - I got to play with them) - now I'm the boss and I play with...myself:D

Today I opened up PS, edited a pic that had to go in a pdf for a presentation. I save the pdf - then go to the temp folder and try to delete the pic. HA - no way - "there is another application using your file...." I go back to PS and check to see if the pic is still open - nope - It's closed...I refresh the damn window - I select the pic - hit delete - "There is another application...." I had to close PS.

Damn windows!
