Telemakhos man you should come to Romania Here black people are not only treated with respect - but they are regarded as exotic and mysterious - we don't have too many... the only thing the majority of the population ever heard about black people is that they have huge....you know... and that they were sclaves once. Most of the female population will turn a head when seeing a black guy cross the street and then whisper and giggle... most of the male population would give anything to be able to brag about their "chocolate girlfriend" A couple of years ago my gilrfriend helped a guy get Romanian citizenship - his name is Olivier - he's black and he was originally from Uganda. His family was tortured by the current dictator in his country and he applied for Romanian citizenship. At the time my girlfriend was working as a translator for the Ministry of Immigration and she translated for him. Well we became friends - he stayed a while with us - he found a job real quick and he got his own apartment. - faster than any of us could have in his place. He had a lot of choices.... I mean we romanians are biased too - but in a good way for black people = everyone automatically assumed he was great at dancing and most disco places wanted to hire him... he's now the manager assistant for a chain foodstore (he sucks at dancing by the way).... got his parents here too, his sister...doing better all the time [edit]= oh and we're 90% euro-trash over here:D |

It is a pretty basic and universal fact that minorities cannot exhibit racism towards majorities. It would be an innacuracy to beieve that white Americans could be the subject of racism from black Americans. Racism is based around power and the ability to weild that power against a minority. Just a factual statement. Nothing more. |

Something comes to mind of the Black Pathers. Is that what it was called? Basically it was the KKK for blacks. And another thing that comes to mind is Al Sharpton. You wanna talk about racism in it's purest form, take a look at that guy.

that's like calling a H-Bomb a firecracker, dude! The fact that Bill O'Reilly gets airtime is enough evidence that they're right-wing. Loud mouth wanna-be politician. I think you're right though, fig - nothing good to say about the President lately. But, that's because he's the president, not because he's a republican or a conservative. Clinton got grilled, too. Bush, Sr. did, Reagan did before that...If Mickey Mouse was our president (hmmm. might be nice...) the media would dig up something about him and Goofy fooling around, or him embezzling oil money. What I am referring to, is when there is an issue - with two sides to it - the media ends up leaning to the right more often than not - and not because the reporters aren't democrats or liberals (most of them are) - the editors and the funding comes from the right. They get the final say what goes to you and me in the public. True, homosexuality has become far more accepted in this country, not because of democrats, though - because bigotry is stupid. Putting your unit somewhere vs. another somewhere is not a political issue. I call it a wasted argument, really. Very similar to bickering over skin color or religious preference. You can cry about that stuff all day if you want, at the end of the day, the person is still black, still gay or still a protestant. Dead End arguments, all of them. To me, more important issues are lack of educational funding, gun control issues, poverty, unemployment, homelessness - drilling oil in national wildlife reserves, traffic and air quality, taxes... and so on. See the difference? I hate when these things get pushed aside and the courts and the media are all tied up on where someone puts their penis or what color a persons skin is. I truly could give a crap about what political party fixes some of these problems in our country, as long as they get addressed. I don't see that happening with Bush in office. Period. |

racism isnt about whos the majority and whos not.. rasicm is about hating / disliking other people because of their skin-color/religion and so on .. or am i the only one with that view? By all means, if you have some sort of fact of what the exact meaning of the word "rasicm" is, please share an URL... |

Let me clear a few things up. I am not black. I am mexican. The reason I have a black guy for my avatar (and sig) is the fact that we both share a common hatred for "The Man." My avatar's name is Huey and he is the main caracter in the comic, Boondocks Mexicans are perhaps the most persecuted race in the U.S. right now. There always has to be some lower race to ridicule in the U.S. Back to my racism. No I am not racist. Most of my friends are white. I just get angry sometimes because I see all this corruption in our world and then I see all these white people leading it. It has nothing to do with race, but they happen to be connected. The thing that makes me the most angry is that all the "most developed" and successful nations in the world today, relied on slavery to get their start. All the troubles in Africa and the Middle East were caused by the Europeans and Americans exploiting the people there and redrawing boundaries as they saw fit. EDIT: And I have to agree that Fox News is the only conservative news station in the business. |
