Good lord, those are sweet. Where the hell did these come from? I don't think the rumor sites even picked these up. www.apple.com/ibook/ |

It's about freakin' time! I guess this is the official death of the G3. Sad to see it go. |

yeah the rumor sites really didnt see it coming, great to see the g4 in em, but id really like better resolutions, but then it would probably be too close to a powerbook.

Yeah I don't think it's very good for designers. Limited to 640mb of RAM too. And only video mirroring, not dual desktop. But for consumers it's perfect! and cheap!

thanks for blessing us with your opinion, kranekick... there's a few threads from last week you should read. anyway... Apple's pissing me off. my iPod - way down in price. my girlfriend's iBook - got a great deal, but if we would've waited a month, could've had a G4 in it. just got a couple G5's... what's coming next month? A f'n G6?! :D |

Um, that's just how technology goes. That's not an Apple thing Something newer and better always comes out soon after you buy whatever it is you're going to buy. That's the 'risk' of buying technology. Furthermore, it was inevitable that the G4 iBook was on it's way, especially given the Powerbook redesign, and Apple's claim that this is the year of the laptop and all.

Someone must of been born in Idiotville... As much as I love Mac, I just don't see myself ever designing on a laptop. In fact, unless I become jet-set (which I don't think will happen), I don't see the point in me owning a laptop at all. That doesn't mean you can't still send me one for Xmas Dek. :p |

I need one so I can take it between work and home, so I'm not stuck working on a Windows machine at work. And the Powerbooks all support dual monitor, so you can hook it up to a Cinema display, or just a 19" CRT if you want, and run dual monitors. Then when you want to compute on the couch, you can, without sitting a 70 pound monitor on your lap.
