Yahoo News Story

Among the songs she downloaded was the nursery song, "If You're Happy and You Know It.". This is ridiculous. I hope it turns around and bites the RIAA in the ass...damn greedy bastards!!

I dont know what they're trying to do though...they arent going to stop it. I mean for starters...dont share on these programs: KaZaA, Grokster, Gnutella Blubster and iMesh lol (plus those are the crappiest noob programs anyway)

I really hope the media publicizes the hell out of that little girl, showing how a poor 12 year old girl is being sued by a huge corporation that represents hundreds of millionaire "recording artists". Total bull****. You know, I used to not buy CDs because they are just too damn expensive. Now I won't buy them because the RIAA are a bunch of ****ing scumbags. If I ever buy another song, it'll be from the iTunes Music Store, not from an overpriced and copy-protected CD.

They paid for KaZaA, what losers, I recently did a spyware clean on my computer, 1826 files thank you very much, and now Kazaa works, that program is all spyware.

Eh. I dunno, maybe the RIAA wants to continue their trend and sue a 14 year old, because I have over 1000 songs.

I'm not sure how it works, I heard about the random prosecution and saw it on ABC targeting major software like Kazaa which I use and makes my computer run slow as hell. I have not downloaded any music or else from kazza for about 2 or 3 month now although I don't think I'll reach 1000 songs I'm not that download crazy. But I hope those corporation bankurpt someday because eventually CDs will be out of market when the new internet protocol comes and so will be DVD and etc. Also I don't think if you don't share anything on Kazza you'll be alright, they find you downloading stuff (i'm not sure how it works) but then they get your ip and blah blah and I think you get $250,000 fine at least that's what I saw on ABC.

That is a bunch of bull **** man... seriously, the RIAA is IMO blowing this entire thing way out of perportion (sp?). I personally own like 300 songs that I have download from various locations and programs. However I do buy alot of cds... I think the RIAA should just shut the hell up, its not like the musicians dont have enough damn money anyways.

How can you sue a 12 year old? There is no way she can be liable. I don't really believe this story. There is no way she could have bought and paid for the internet service as she is a minor, even if the user name on Kazaa was hers, that doesn't prove much. Would this lawsuit not fall on the mother instead?
