Did any of you happen to hear Dean's "Four Lies President Bush has made"? Freaking hilarious.

Howard Dean is a moron, who is simply trying to manipulate people into putting HIM into a position of power. He has NO higher motives. He's self-serving (just like the rest of the politicians). I'm dissappointed you guys are swayed by his hog-wash.

malibu...Dean isn't half of what you claim he is. Look at his record. He has been sucessful his entire life. Also, practically every individual in this world is self-serving these days, so dont single out Politicians. His strategy of bad mouthing President Bush is both acceptable and necessary. If anyone will beat Bush in the 2004 election, it will take an the attitude of Dean. He is simply taking Bush head on and exploiting all of his flaws. I applaud his agressiveness. These other politicians who sit back and take things so easy are the morons. Whats wrong with playing hard?

i'll have to listen to that later, sounds...interesting. i'm not the biggest fan of rush, but dean does seem to be a very "play to what the people want to hear and make it sound pretty" kinda guy from what i know of him so far. a girl here at work was going on about him, already sold on voting for him, and her main point seemed to be that "everything he said sounded so GOOD." yeah, that makes for a good president.

george w. may not be perfect, but he's done a good job overall. i shudder to think what might've gone on post-9/11 if gore had been in office...

Bush had done a "good job overall"... is a "good job" all we should expect from the leader and most powerful person in America? Shouldn't we expect something more from such an important person? You are right, by the way, Bush has done a decent job. We are in a pretty sticky situation now (post-war) and its going to be sticky for a long long time, but he did what he felt necessary. Do I agree with it? For the most part, yes. But there are many things he could do differently. Take his fiscal policy for example. I recently read an article that proclaimed Bush's fiscal policy as "the worst fiscal polict in 200 years." He does lag in some areas. Thats a wholenother topic though...

well, i'll take "good job" over "bad job" that is a valid point tho, we have come to accept mediocrity as acceptable or even excellent at times.

we had a related discussion here the other day, discussing the clinton/lewinsky incident and someone made a point that "well, it bothered me more than he lied after he got caught, other presidents have cheated before." the thing is, just because something has happened in the past doesn't make it right; we've written off adultery as socially acceptable because it happens. not to mention that a CEO of any major corporation caught in a similar position would've been fired almost instantly. lucky for clinton we live in america ;)

Good point Fig. Unfortunately, too much "unacceptable" behavior is tolerated these days. It's too bad that theres not a whole lot we can do about it. Clinton was an interesting president. He had the skills to be amonst the best of presidents. He lacked, however, a great personality. If he had the mentality of some of the greater presidents, he would have been a very very good president. I'm not saying Dean is the best candidate for 2004. I'm not even saying that he has my vote. I'm only saying that its refreshing to see a candidate stand up to the so called "politcal norm" and have the balls to take the current president head on with so much confidence. I know you probably think Dean is just another Perot or Nader, but he's different. If you truely study him, he has a great record and some extremely valid points. Just keep an eye out for him...hes most likely not going to win, but he'll shock many.

I'm curious why people voted for Bush if it wasn't for his crap sounding "sooooo goood"?

What else is there? It's not like americans look at the actual abilities of being a politician anymore. Hey look, he likes baseball! He's got my vote!
