I agree with Utopian23. At the University I attended, there were very serious consequences for installing software onto computers. Expulsion and possible charges (depending on what was going on) were all options the school could and would use. You're only in highschool dude, chill out and just use what they have there. Do the work at home if its such a big deal. Really, if you can't work within constraints, then you arent suited for the work anyway. Sometimes you have to make due with what you have.

Number one, this isn't about pirating, no need for the haven't pirated and second, this school, they are so oblivious as to what's going on it's not even funny. The teacher I have is so leniant, she let's us download and listen to MP3s, and bring in CDs with NES, SNES, Genesis, etc. roms on them to play. Even if she did catch me, she wouldn't, and couldn't fail me for the semester. She could easily fail me for class participation that day if she caught me, but I do not believe it is within her rights to fail me for the semester because of this, unless you are a teacher, or anyone here is a teacher or principal or superintendant and can prove me wrong.

I never said I wasn't suited to the for the work...I just said it's a ****ing bitch to deal with. I can easily make a site look good, but just not as good (not saying I'm great to begin with) as if I could use PhotoShop. Jeez, you guys make it seem like I'm trying to hack the CIA or something, it's just PS and I probably wouldn't have even bothered to install it to begin with because I don't feel like installing that there anyway. Maybe I'll ask anyway, but I doubt I will. I'll just use the marquees, big fonts, and bright colors. Oh, and clipart. :D

Quit being a "the-rules-are-always-black-and-white-because-I'm-a-teenager-and-that's-how-I-see-things" dickhead and work under the bounds established on this one. If she's lenient, you probably appreciate her because of that. Don't push your luck and ruin a good thing.

No one here needs to be a teacher, principal or superintendant, nor do they have to prove anything to you. It's bloody illegal, so don't do it.

And, like Spectra said:
"Really, if you can't work within constraints, then you arent suited for the work anyway. Sometimes you have to make due with what you have."

Then, you defended with:
"I just said it's a ****ing bitch to deal with. I can easily make a site look good, but just not as good (not saying I'm great to begin with) as if I could use PhotoShop."

This is more common than not in the real world, get used to it. There will ALWAYS be someones rules and constraints you'll have to bow to. ALWAYS. If you want to prove that you can make a site look decent, then JUST DO IT, using the exact same tools everyone else in the class has to use. THIS is the way to truly prove that you're worth your salt.

"Jeez, you guys make it seem like I'm trying to hack the CIA or something, it's just PS..."

My high school has a good budget. Joe's seen it, it's pretty damn big, we use Photosop, Dreamweaver, FrontPage whatever you need they will buy pretty much, I love it.

* cough brand new mac lab at school cough * Depending on the high school, the budget is obscenely high or low. Mine is quite low concering on our needs (we need to support air condtioning, 9 escalators, 4 elevators, 10 science labs, 3 comp labs, a half a million dollar dark room which rivals area colleges, etc) but it nearly triples those of an average HS. Go Stuy go. ;)

/end rant

If your school allows it, bring a laptop and work on that instead. :(

PSquid: Sorry, man, I can't back ya on this one. U23 is drawing a very straight line--but he is correct. If you want to work around the constraints; create your graphics at home and sneaker net them into school. If you want to challenge yourself; play the hand you were dealt and see how far you can push it. Pixel art isn't dead... at least not entirely ;) Quit playin' video games and use the time to learn something about yourself.

Oh, and yes they can fail / expell / juvie-hall ya....

Whatever, I'm just a "know-it-all-teenager" and that automatically makes me a moron. I quit. I just wanted to vent a little bit, and you guys take it way out of proportion. I was only half serious when I said I wanted to install PS, and chances are would just deal with what I was dealt. Thanks Utopian for pointing out how much of a moron me and all teenagers are because you are so narrow-minded and were never a teenager yourself, I completely forgot that you are perfect.
