I'm looking for a used car. Maybe a 2001 Toyota Celica. I just want one with a cd player. Power steering and ABS is a definite plus.

Get a used Volvo. 95% of used Volvos from 1992 and up have all those features and more. They're reliable, and great to drive.

!!! i own(ed) an 85 volvo 760 turbo. 273k miles with no major work. in the process of purchasing a 94 volvo 940. nothing beats a volvo for reliability. i also own a mazda rx7 so i'm a semi-ricer. i'm not into the tin can exhaust and clear tailamps stuff though. i just modded the drivetrain mostly (about 365 hp) and a few body accents. the good thing about the ricers is most people think it's just a stock car that i put some body panels on until i blow em off the line. and the american muscle guy in me has a 79 pontiac trans am 10th anniversary. she's waiting to be restored. hopefully i'll get her all original by the time i'm 30 i have a pretty diverse garage lol. all the ricer bashers and muscle bashers need to stfu, get something YOU like, and let your car speak for itself. |

I'll agree that I hate American-quality cars. I've owned 2 Fords, 1 Chevy, and I currently own a Chrysler. All 4 have been total ****. The Chevy was the least ****, and the current Chrysler the worst of the bunch money-wise. I wish I could have a German-built car, with American, specifically Pontiac, styling. If I could make my own car company, I'd hire BMW engineer's and designers and Pontiac's design team, and throw them all in a 10 foot by 10 foot room and see what they squirt out. My next car, when this piecer is paid off, will only be German. It's embarrasing that Amercian's cannot make a car that will run more than 18 months before needing massive repairs. You would think that after losing money to the Europeans and Japanese that Detroit would wake up and smell the coffee. The Chrysler electronic transmission is by far the biggest pile of junk in the automotive world. It's almost guaranteed that your Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge/Mitsubishi electronic transmission will die right around 70,000 miles. I've seen it on my own car, and I've seen it on 5 other cars, and heard about it on 1000s of others. It's ridiculous. Seriously. I've put more money into repairs on my Chrysler than I spent to buy my first 2 Fords. I suspect that in 2 years when the Chrysler is paid off, that I will have spent more money on repairs than I did to buy my first 3 cars. The automotive market is a joke. A car is by far the worst purchase you will ever make, unless you keep your car for 50+ years, when it's an antique and regains it's original value, which may never happen with today's high-price cars. The average price of a car has risen like 800% in the last 20 years, and they run for far less miles on average. I've seen numerous cars that were stored away in the 50's and 60's drive out the garage in the 90's with 80,000 miles on them. My car just turned over to 94,000 miles this week, and I'd be surprised if it got me through this summer. My car is currently worth less than $4000, about 1/6 of what I am paying for it. I currently owe more than $4000 on the car, which makes it impossible to sell because even if I did get book value for it, I'd still have to fork out another $4000 above and beyond that. The value of my Chrysler dropped from $18,500 to $3800 in less than 4 years. That's retarded. There is no way I could have seen that coming. The only cars that hold their value are SUVs, Trucks, and FOREIGN cars. I wish Detroit would see that. |

:D My '94 Explorer could probably sell for about $3,000-$4,000. How old is your chrysler?
