I want help, but I want you to tell me exactly what I want you to... matter of fact, I will email all of you ahead of time with prescribed responses which you can post in my thread.

First of all, if you want to LEARN anything, lose the chip off your shoulder. Second of all, if you want to learn how to make music, FRIKKIN' TAKE MY ORIGINAL SUGGESTION AND GO LEARN MUSIC!!!

I don't mean to get off on a rant here, but, what is wrong with kids these days? I want to make music without knowing anything about music? You know, I've heard some 2 yr olds bang on a piano before, maybe I should just give them a midi keyboard and record the ****e so I can 'can' it and sell it as musical genius!!! There are no short cuts to art. Knowledge is the foundation, and if you want to build anything that will stand for longer than your OBVIOUSLY short attention span, go learn something. Borrow a Beethoven CD from one of your bro's grandma-mas...

Learning piano wouldn't help if you want to mix beats digitally.

moochan--I don't care if he wants to learn to play a wood-saw, but my point is, LEARN MUSIC FIRST. Learn the terms, the concepts, the ART. He's not just talkin' about remixin', he wants to "create" music.

moochan is right and thats what i have been saying...im not interested in playing in a school band or the guitar in a punk rock group i simply want to be able to some what use a music creation program to create beats for my site....i dunno what you think this forum is here for but i assumed it was atleast related to web design...crazy thought isnt it....rather then trying to yell at me and tell me to go learn a topic that no one in history has ever completely learned and that is ever expanding in terms and members why dont you just help me out with a few questions that i have asked...a start would be teh one in my last post...guess you skipped it cause you were in a hurry to get mad at me and show the world you thought i was being ignorant and arrogant

I applaud you wanting to create music. My point was... and still is... if you want to create music, go and learn music. Learn the terms, learn how to read music. If you just want to mix other peeps music--by all means, have at it. But I suggest, humbly, that if you want to CREATE music, you're also going to need to LEARN music. Like anything in life, there's a short path, and a long path. Good luck in your journey, barring any more smart-arse comments from yourself, I'll leave you alone.

Yes it IS a web design forum, however your questions are NOT related to web design. You'd probably have more knowledgeable replies if you asked the question to a group of people that are actually interested in and knowledgeable in the software you have a question about.

yes deker you are correct the only reason i thought of this forum was becaues it was here that fruity loops was suggested to me when i asked for an alternative to acid a few months ago...therefore i assumed that some people used it since i know enough to understand it has great potential as a music loop program...since it was recommended to me from someone in this forum i thought someone like that person might be able to assist but after having this long conversation with this person who i guess thinks every time i want to learn a few concepts i should go to college on the topic i guess i will have to go find my help else where

I don't want to step off to the side here, but I'm guessing that you get beat up a lot in school. If I'm wrong, well, I'm not wrong, I can tell you do. You're angry at the world, not at this thread. I can sense a lot of deep resentment towards people in general, not at the people who have responded here.

Malibu made a lot of good points. Music theory is not something that is born with you, it is something you must be taught. Anyone can put a beat down, anyone can throw loops together in a music creation tool, anyone can hammer wood and nails together, it's the difference between doing it and doing it well. Chances are, even if you just do it, you'll still feel a sense of pride that you completed the task, and you may even like it, but most people are their own best critics, and their own worst critics. Problem is that what sounds good to you, may not sound good to others. I'm not talking the difference between Metal & Bluegrass, I'm talking musically period. To truly create good music, you need to know what you are doing, not simply how to use the tool.

like i said before the only reason i wast to know the terms and stuff is just to know a little..jus ta little of what im doing in fruity loops just so i can have a basic...average...beat on my site the exact thing your telling me i can only get with basic knowledge...thats what im looking for...im not making music im making aloop...a beat...im not trying to get on the radio...and making music is not a hobbie i would just like one little feature to add to my sites

Well it looks to me like you're going to have more than just a beat for your site. You have an area set up for music. You want to make more than just your average background loop.
