What do you think of this redesign?

no, unfortunatly Danimation pics very few sites that have to be very unique. They are very strict about bandwidth and space.

If you went with the rendering of the rollercoaster for the layout, I would just make a little sign hanging off of the bracing for the rails, and have that be where you put the logo. Use just one or two colors, and pick a small font or something. You could do a little illustration of a couple of kids in a rollercoaster cart with their arms up in the air for a logo. Something like that. When they do the rendering, tell them to use as few colors as possible. Also remember that for your part of it. Because if you make it animated, you'll have to save it as a .gif, and you'll want to keep the colors really simple in order to compress the image enough.

I like the roller coaster menu idea. You would have to do it right and not make it look like you just decided to put it in at the last moment make it look like it belongs there. Have fun with it, sounds like a fun assignment.

For the logo, the person wants me to take the old one(The one from the top of this page) and add rays to it(rayofLight). How would I do that?

It looks like you tried to make rays of light come from it but it totally didn't work out or something...
i think you should change that... maybe you didn't save it properly?

and that yellow rollercoaster shouldn't be yellow...
doesn't blend in with the other colours.
basicly you've got 2 colors there now, green and yellow... (and white and black) i personally think you shouldn't use 2 verry bright colours on one page, that just doesn't mix...

but hey, maybe it's just me.

The logo is temporary. How am I supposed to change the track colors? I made the page in 1024x768, how does it look in other resolutions?

Now maybe I am waaaayyy off.... but are you completey new to webdesign? Your site, I don't think, could look any more unprofessional. How on earth did you get hired? Sorry if I sound mean but that is what I think.
