Don't know if it matters to you or not, but your mobo is capable of Ultra 150 drives and your HD is only Ultra 100. that is going to be a sweet pc (*drools*)

Yeah i would probably go with a high end graphics card first.... With your ram and bus speeds high, 100 on the ide bus will still be pretty dang fast.

DO NOT BUT THAT XASER!!! THERMALTAKE CASES ARE HORRID

Ok, that case is horrible. It had horris cooling, pointless features and it's overpriced. You're much better off with the Lian Li you had before.

People with those Xasers have been complaining all along. Don't buy it.

Harddrives
That Raptor is decent. It is however, too small. The fact that it's 10,000 is good... however not as important as 8MB cache... since it has both speed and cache it's good... but not for 36GB... that is nothing. For $140 it's just worthless.

I would suggest a 120GB Western Digital 8MB 7,200rpm drive. They're like $100.

You will honestly see a 1 second difference in seek times between the 7,200rpm one and the 10k rpm one. Cache makes copying, saving, pasting, everything faster. A LOT faster.

really only reason to get 10k is you do some massive movie editing and deal with huge huge file sizes, and what not, or if you really care that your computer will start up a bit faster. id just stay with 7200 is plenty

You Malevolent basterd, why do you've to go and tell me **** like that about my case. From all the reviews I've looked ppl love this case. If you can prove me wrong then I might think about going back to the Lian Li.

P.S. Thanks for the pointer on the HD.

Ok, sure, go ahead and get it. I mean, it's not like I care THAT much, if the reviews you read are good... then sure.

But consider yourself warned. ;)
