Do not get an Intel motherboard. Period. Just don't, on some of them, the capacitors actually fall off. Get one by Asus or Abit or something. Keep the 875P chipset though.

Also, what will you be using to cool that CPU? Just the stock cooler? I mean, there's nothing wrong with it... but the cooler the better. It'll probably make the CPU last longer too.

Other than that, it's a pretty badass looking system there. Should last you awhile.

I've a really old g3 for my gcard. I plan on upgrading to ATI All-In-Wonder RADEON 9700 PRO 128MB DDR 8X AGP BULK

I'm also thinking of changing the case to some thing like..

Yeah, Abit IC7-G is probably the best you can get for the Canterwood at the moment. Yep. Good choice.

Those cases look like space ships! why would you need the variable speed fans? wouldn't you just have them on max all the time?

NO! They are (thermaltake anyway) are wicked loud. I got combined 14000 rpms in my computer (all thermaltakes) and the sound over powers my television with the volume turned up. With my bedroom door closed..at night you can hear my computer in another room with that door closed!!

Oh. So you just turn them all down when you aren't using the computer? That's weird. I haven't been around many really fast PC's lately, so I still don't realize how hot they get I guess.

well it looks good, but yeah get an abit or asus over intel mobo. and i would recommend getting 2.8 ghz processor instead of the 3 its such a huge price jump. save about 140 bucks, and you really wont loose that much performance. just my opinion.
