Shocking would be an understatment. I sure hope the team picks Lidge up for the next game. That sort of lose could effect him for who knows how long... :(

There it is Fig...1st ever.

My one question though...The WS doesn't start until Saturday, that means 2+ days off. You have a 4 run lead. Why doesn't Garner give Lidge the ball? I just would think that, after all Lidge has done for the 'Stro's, you gotta give him the ball to wrap this sucker up. Forget about Monday, this is now, regain the confidence and show the proper respect for your number one guy not pencilled in to start a game. Unless there is an over cautious reason (fearing a freak injury), you just got to let Lidge end that series...

My last few pennies.

I just ordered a biggio jersey

and response from one of my hardcore baseball buddies here: because it wasn't a save situation. he had thrown 3 straight games and we didn't need him. had we gotten to a 2-run or less lead we would've seen him i think.

oswalt was fantastic, and i'm really hoping ensberg comes around for the WS after a great first NL series and a horrible NLCS (though that rip over third he had mid-game was fair). I am looking forward to seeing Bagwell DH so he gets to really play in the WS. really happy for him and Biggio. and me

Agreed, it wasn't a save situation, I just think that with that much rest and no guarantee that they will even need him Saturday, let the guy finish up the pennant. I'm just like that is all. I know the business behind it says keep the guy in the 'pen just in case. Regardless, it's awesome to see. Is Bagwell on the roster? Will he get a ring if they win. If there is a blowout, they better give him a few bats.

Thanks man, i'm pretty pumped

and actually, i think that Bagwell is going to DH when we play in chicago, really looking forward to him getting some at-bats. he's on the 40-man roster either way so i'm sure he'd get a ring.

Sorry Fig ;)
Sox in 6 (maybe 5). I have to say I am pleasantly surprised in our relief pitchers. They have not had any game time in so long I was afraid they would be rusty
