lol, it appears some people don't read the entire thread....

I like what you have going on, the texture in the second one is more interesting I think than the scanlines in the first, why don't you try overlaying the scanlines on the texture with a layer blending mode?

Also, I would try to incorporate the picture you had in the first into the second. I think you could make it work really well.

can't learn everything all at one, I agree with everyone else do tutorials, but those aren't the solution to everything cause someone else who didn't know how to make things at one time made those too, which means that eventually if you just mess around and make things that look neat, but don't look like the program made them you 'll have some good stuff! and hey you didn't even use a lens flare I'm proud :D newbs to ps always do,
but yeah.. and hey w00t pait shop pro I remember that .. I still use paint shop pro 5 cause I enjoy the lighting and darkining tools.. anyway just me rambling on

I feel your pain, on the paint shop pro. I just got off of paint shop pro a month ago. trust me, well worth it. Paint shop is the mickey mouse version of photoshop. Its the little things that that make photoshop amazing to work with. And its industry standard.
I like the name more myself!

;-)
