Newbie at this...first pic ever taken lol be afraid

13 is young......considering I just turned 14......

lol yep, i'm 13 now, i just started photo stuff, i dunno if i will continue, maybe when i get older i can take like photo classes and stuff, but for now i think i will stick to making websites

I started doing Photoshop just when I was 12...but I sucked majorly! Much worse than I do now(which is hard to do, considering I suck).

holy crap. you guys aren't in high school yet! that's weird.

Of course you can take classes about photography in high school but they might just suck. i got to take a media type class where we were supposed to learn how to do all sorts of imagery and learn how to take photos. BUT, our teacher was new and we had terrible equipment. We had to use powerpoint and word to make brochures and business cards and stuff. And for the photography part he just made us go get a disposable camera and take pics and get them developed at eckerd. That was our project. Big problem was we had very little time to do all the stuff we were supposed to.

So, my point is, don't expect to get a lot out of a high school class. College is 100 times better. The students actually want to be there and actually care what they make. That make the whole thing a whole lot better.

I actually took a "Computer Media" class at my school. I had to be at school at 7 in the morning instead of 8 :(.It was very sad, most/all the students knew more than the teachers!

yeh i was thinkin of maybe taking some classes outside of school? if there was actually a class dedicated to a certain topic of photography it might not be as crappy as school media classes, my sis already told me how bad those can be....

i started photoshop when i was 10 tok a break at 11 and started again when i turned 12. im turnin 13 sept. 1st! rahh rahh shikoom ba! *done wih psycho moment*

ok...now that i know everyones ages, does anyone have tips for photo taking up close or just tips in general for my picture?
