Try listening to grungy music while you do it, it helps me.

Just play with the brushes and forget about the end result, thats what I tried to do.

very little (none) airbrushing done on it, just a random image.

the best tutorial or description I should say is probably the one that was on turpentine.cjb.net . Unfortunatly, that site seems to have been taken down.

the idea was to take some stuff, set it on fire. let it burn for a couple seconds then put it out. then take your scanner and turn it upside down on the pile of stuff and scan it in.

I have actually taken plastic wrap and dipped it into black paint and then blotted it onto white posterboard. Do it a couple of times and you get a nice pattern to overlay.

Turpentine is still out there, I saw it a few weeks ago.. let me look..


Yeah the server is missing those pages.. which is odd because its right beside me here and I haven't deleted them....

My next grungy image. I found some gear brushes had been loaded on my computer by some wonderful brush faery so I tried them out.
