The first one is the best, but I dont like how the top of the headphones get cut off. Other than that, its perfect. The other two arent as good because the contrast is too high - the reflections from the CDs are the focal point when they definately shouldn't be. And when the color is in there, its even worse. The first one is really crisp and professional, and I could definately see it appearing in a magazine or photo contest. Except for the part where its cut off at the top. ;) Did you go to a studio or set this up in your house or what? Next time take a quick shot of the setup (from far away) so we can see how you do things. |

I cropped it that way in PS. I thought the full headphones shot was kinda boring, and cropping to close to the edge of the headphones looked weird. in my house, its basically the same setup as the link below (just with different lighting and a couple diffusers off to the side ) My Studio |

I guess Im the only one that dislikes the colors then. I think that the soft, clean, professional look for this picture is the way to go. And I definately would not have cropped it off the top. Thats not a bad studio youve got there - webcam picture lol. I wish I had a camera with manual control. I dont know much about cameras, though. I thought that there were two times. Point-and-shoot and SLR. The first being with no manual control and the latter looking more like a traditional camera, with attachable lenses, etc. Except your camera doesnt seem to be like either of those two distinctions, rodder. Does someone want to fill me in on the different camera types and the basic pros and cons and general price range? (Or a good link would be nice ;).) |

Is that the colors of the first ones?? if so i have to agree (after seeing my new photo). Its really...well its a pre-SLR. Its an slr style...just not with all the extra features, though i am able to buy attachable lenses, external flashes etc. Its a set up from point-and-shoot (a big step actually) but affordable as SLR's go. Basically your right though....there really just 2 categories...point&shoot and SLR's. As for general price range, point&shoots are usually from $100-400 and SLR's will be from $400-1000 (and up). Point&Shoot - pros= cheap, easy to use, ok quality - cons = limited features/control over the final image, cant get really creative with em.....most will look like your basic vacation photo, usually plastic lenses (meaning photo's wont be crisp), plastic viewfinders (meaning u look through a hole in the camera....instead of an LCD viewfinder on an SLR) SLR -pros = full control over camera/final image, as creative as you want, ability to shoot in any lighting situation, slr bodies are easier to hold, usually glass lenses (better quality), good quality images, upgradable (lenses...etc) -cons= a bit of a learning curve, not only learning the 10,000 buttons but also how to use the features, they're bigger size wise than point&shoots (you cant put an slr in your pocket) and expensive (but well worth it in my opinion). good link -----> http://www.dpreview.com/ |

I love the new photo! I really like the silver color in it! But yes the cut off headphones disturbs me a bit too. Nice to see that you actually made some effort to take this shot! It always counts as a thumbs up in my book! Nice stuff...show us more! |

From a photographers point of view.. The black and white version...Very nicely layed out! Nice perspective! Very appealing to the eye...When you take photos like this it is good to crop some of it..it tells a story in a way... Very good job..the only thing that caught my eye was the bottom left corner..it was a little blown out...other than that it is great!! You were right about the first shot also that white circle was distracting... I don't care for the colors in the others... Alyssa |

if we're talking about the same thing, then yeah it is...cause thats where the one of my light sources was. Im not sure how i could avoid that in camera...except move the light source and use a diffuser in place, but i can fix that no problem in PS. Anyways thanks for the comments! |
