the fallen - Nice atmosphere. Also i like searching around trying to find all the elements. The "fallen" text doesnt fit too well though. Even with the drop shadow/outline/possibly glow it gets lost cause everything else is so busy. I think it would be as effective without it. Green - Not enough contrast. Its a little too "flat"...i feel like some elements should be more visible than others. Broken glass - its busy....but busy to the point where i dont know where to look first. Thats not my fav out of the bunch....but its ok. ghost - dont work (broken glass link) Overally though........pretty good. Minor tweaks post-work....thats bout it. And welcome btw. |

Scary that I'm the first to reply, must be a coincidence that you posted a whole 4 minutes before I came on That my friend, is some sweet sh!t. As far as some feedback... well, my favorite is by far 'the fallen'. Looks like you put a lot of effort into it, and it came out great with lots of contrast and color. Although it does make your eyes wander around looking for the 'point' of it, I think it's looking pretty good. Not particularly fond of 'green'--it looks a little bland. I'll let someone else go into more detail... Broken glass is a pretty cool image too. Not sure if you took the picture yourself (which I must say--is a big deal to me) I'm not too fond of the font you used in that one, but I think you got the color (blue) just right. Ghost--well, the link is wrong, but if people are smart, they'll just go to --> http://www.thereal7.com/images/art/ghost.jpg I'm liking 'ghost' very much for a few reason. One of them being the font used on the bottom text. It's too hard to read. I don't recall who I'm quoting, but what this guy said was something among the lines of: "people are going to read the text, before they notice the effects", and I totally agree. The second reason is the large white effect behing the H in ghost. It's not that terribly noticeable, I would loosen up the white a bit. Some good stuff in there. If you produce things like this on a regular basis you'll have lots of friends here ;) Welcome the forums. edit: Scratch that, someone beat me to the 'first post'. |

Thanks Rodder454 and Yacovitch. I fixed the link. ;) Thanks for the critism. I am not a huge fan of the font in theFallen but that was my first dive into using photoshop custom brushes. Green, is a bit flat on purpose ;) I wanted the viewer to sort of get lost in the pic. I am quite new to the whole digital art scene to bare with me, although I have been in the print indusrty for over 8 yearsm just now I am starting to really get into art.

Those are really nice. I do have a couple things to say, though - I dont like the way you put your name and website and everything in each one. They should be personal, but not because they have your website name in them. Artwork is not a way to get hits. Take it out. Also, with the excepton of the last one, I dont like the text in it. Take it out, or find a better way to express it. The text fits in the last one, but the image in the last one is a little plain. Which is not something I can say for the others. :D I like broken glass and the green one the best. The first one is a little bright and busy for me. This is some really great work - better than I can do ;) Keep it up. tom |

Youve done som pretty good work here.. im not to fond of the font choice either, nor the way you place your "www adress" .. im liking "green" the most anyway.. i dont know what it is, maybe its just the color tone, or the contrast (which i think matches the image pretty well) .. it might miss someting that .. "comes forward" and takes the attention ... but welcome to the forum, i hope you'll enjoy it here |

Oh my! That rusted piece is really nice. I cant really tell whats going on or where the perspective is, which is what makes it really nice. Reminds me of moochans anti-equilibrium piece (search the forums for it, its really good, too). I also like how clean it is - if I did this one then I wouldnt be able to resist the urge to put a lot of grunge in. It might look good, though if you did it. Save it as a new .psd and grunge it up if you want. I dunno - what does everyone else think? Its really nice, though :D tom |

Rusted is great! Its just so twisted :D Crits: It needs a little brightening/contrast, and some more saturation (for example....the brick wall.) A little post work, maybe slap a border on it and call it done. Care to post the orig photo's? |
