I agree about the dates-font, not about the yellow box... well maybe about the yellow box.. ;)

-the 'pili'-argument is raised already on other works by paavoperkele I think. I can imagine the hilarity ;)

- the font: truth: I couldn't find the non-wiggly version of the font used above, cause since it's in a box it should not wiggle IMO ;)

- what 'creative' solution did you have in mind instead of the box ? I'm not a boxes-fan myself, but I think in this case it's handled properly imho (it's not a photo-manip hé, well part of it is, but it's mainly a poster)
If you have good ideas, let me know.
