Originally this was supposed to be a scifi pic. I was ready to create this robot/alien/mech thingy ( either hand painted or made in 3dsm) and a cityscape behind in ruins w/ planets etc. Well as i worked on it...it just gave off this feeling (cant really describe it) so i ditched the alien/scifi theme and made this. Maybe its 9/11 piece...maybe its a war piece...I have absolutely no idea!! But it has a certain feeling/beauty to it which i like. The idea behind "Lost"..well a couple things. Emotionally you get "lost" in the image. But also your lost cause ahead of you (following the train tracks) is a place you dont want to go...but everything is so dark you dont have a place to go.. so your physically lost too. Lost ~100k Edit: Sorry....its early!! Sometimes i forget the URL but usually i catch myself before anyone notices (...looks around paranoid...) |

Well the sky has a base photo (just a boring gray cloud..prolly why it looks good lol) and above that I painted all the detail with just a regular soft brush (about size 45..20%opacity). I wanted a grunge brush...but you really need a regular round brush to get the "puffy" feeling. Also along the edges i used the same settings on a hard brush to give a "defined" edge. Thats basically it. You should check out the "cloud painting" tuts on http://www.gfxartist.com/ .....kinda hard to recreate but good! |

Is that a road at the bottom? Looks great - I love it. I think you post more quality work than anyone else here. Do you have a website gallery of your work? tom |

Thats actually train tracks. The rails are easy to see but the wood isnt (i faded it on purpose). Here is a quick edit just to show you whats there. Bright tracks with everything else so dark didnt look right....so thats why you cant really see the wood. "I think you post more quality work than anyone else here" I dont think i can take credit for a title like that....but i do try to do the best i can. Ive done enough crap (~750 files according to my massive archive lol) that im ready to put more quality into what i do. And no...no website as of yet. Thats probably a few months from now. |

Wow! Question: People here are getting so good now a days so It's like impossible to see what is photomanipulated and what's painted... So have you painted those houses and stuff?? I really like it! |
