Thnx. Actually I think i just discovered what was really wrong. The white parts i smudged.....didnt blend in with the flames behind it....they were just triangular in shape and came to a harsh orange point..so instead of actually looking good...it just looked like crappy smudge lol. ( why do i make things at 5am?????) lol

Here are some other minor updates:

I tried to play with the stars...but i have no idea how to create convincing stars. Ive tried noise (monochromatic..although stars have color when i think about it...) one pixel brush...4 pixels..etc. Right now i have 4 pixel brush set to about 75% opacity...and it looks fake. It just too consistent...it forms a pattern instead of looking random...i dunno.

I've attached 3 small color variations for the hell of it..although im still pretty much a fan of that orange.

And in the 2nd large photo (the revision) i took out the dark moon surface to see what it would look like...although its "accurate" it just has an empty feeling....like you expect something there..something to look at

ok guy. The second one is much better! I still think the eclipse i saw was white ... but this could be the start of getting bilnd by looking in it This one really looks good. The 3 color-variants are all worse than the orange one.

thnx. Your right about the eclipse being white. An eclipse can produce a red color during a phase usually called "the diamond ring" .....right before the total eclipse but it doesnt really produce enough color to justify my image( :-( ). But picasso painted women with breasts on their foreheads and arms up ther ***es so i think my eclipse is ok lol. Anyway...thnx for all the feedback!!

hahaha about the picasso thing

Btw, yeah, I just monochromatic noise it and then gaussian blur it for stars. Probably because I'm lazy! :P
