Jase, Thanks for the reply. May I should have stated the project: Design a bus card for Salon Eclectic; my friend is a hairstylist and owner. Eclectic means different or difference so I am told so she wanted a full color bus card that represented a different look. Please keep in mind that I am new to this, but I am eager to learn. I have few other bus cards to design as well. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, |

HAHAHHAHA cute :D I woul dplay off the "diffewrence and use colors that have lots of contrast to eachother. I wouldnt go blendy andthing. Hard clean edges. That seems to have a stronger effect. |

Strong, clean lines seems a sensible approach to take on something like this - tip for the top - When working in CMYK (which is what you need for printing) try and steer clear of oranges as they become 'muddy'.

Business cards don't normally stand out, I'm not sure if they should, because nobody wants some big flashy thing being thrown in their face. Although I think your choice of colors are nice, just maybe tone them down a tiny touch. If I were you, I would take off the scanlines entirely, then I think it would turn out nice. It will look best if it's printed very glossy like, instead of just plain ink, then it will look out of place. But if it was a shiny card, then I think that yellow will look nice.
