remove the [img] code from the first one.

Its pretty simple, the text needs some work, maybe a better font, or some effects or something.

And what are you gonna use it for?

Yes, it is simple I am trying to learn. What font do you suggest and what other type of effects? The image is going to be used for a business card.

Thanks

Firstly lose the lense flair. Also really consider that you are going to have to send this to print. The scanlines are also dodgy for prints sake.

What resolution are you working in?

Also, double sided? It is 'normal' to have one-sided business cards, there will be an inevitable rise in the cost of printing if you go with the double sided.

Have you made this in RGB colour space or CMYK?

The hermit, layin down my exact thoughts :P

Yea I dunno how well that stuff is going to print, and I think for a business card you should Anti-Alias the text, as much as I hate anti-aliasing, I think it would turn out better. Scanlines should go.. I think you should add all the information you need on the one side, unless there is going to be soo much information that you can't possibly fit it while making the logo look good, but I don't see why you need more than address/phonenumber/faxnumber if it's for a Salon like I read as the first word.

hermit & Frito,

What can I do to make the card more exciting without using the scanlines and lens flare? I want the the card to stand out. I thank you guys for your replies.

well first off what type of business is this friend of yours in? i may be wrong but you may have designed something that's merely eye candy for yourself rather than meeting the needs of your friend. Right now i have no idea what this person does, what their company is about, or what services they offer. Does he/she have a logo of somesort? when picking a font, pick something that will reflect the person or business i.e. conservative/ classy = script or seriff, a band = something more active/ grunge maybe. its not set in stone, in some occasions the opposite could be the answer. anyhow i'm just saying you should design to meet the clients need. for examples go to a bookstore (barnes & nobles) and look at some letterhead, envelope, card design books.
