I really appreciate your comments. It sounds like frontpage express really sucks. Only recently have I started talking to other web designers, as it's been basically a hobby until now. Everything I know about web design I learned myself so it's no wonder that my practices are unconventional. But it's obvious that winging it will only take me so far. I owe it to my clients to give them a product that excells both on the user end and behind the screen. So I'm going to start learning dreamweaver. That seems to be the industry standard nowadays and I've heard nothing but good things about it from those who use it. Axiom, you raised a good point. But I just thought I'd mention that I don't charge by the hour (not yet). I charge by the job and so far my customers haven't had any complaints whatsoever. But since I'm getting more serious with this as a career, I'm either going to aquire the necessary skills to help maximize my efficiency as a web developer or hire somebody else who can. Thanks again everybody. This thread has been very helpful indeed. Cheers! |
