I'm trying to follow these instruction to make VGUI menu pics for a game called Counter-Strike. I was wondering if someone could help me with these or could possibly make them easier to understand for me? I'm basically a Photoshop noob. Thanks, and heres the instructions I'm trying to follow:

u need photoshop
u need to know layers
u need to know alphachannel

u all know this, then read on.. else give up now

1)open the vgui pics
2)copy paste, rescale a pic of your gun in there
3)use magic want to select space around/gun (+trigger!
4)select "select+grow) from the menu
5)go to the alphachannel
6)make sure everything outside the gun is black (by del/or fill it with black)
7)select inverse (from menu)
8)file the gun space with white
9)blur the alpha channel a little with gauss blur
10) flatten and save the image

and thats about it.

umm, what's the point of making the alpha channel in the first place if you're not going to utilize it in the main image...
