I am getting used to photoshop and have been using Dreamweaver ultradev to code my pages. I would like to be able to create a page in PS6 and import it to Dreamweaver to publish a killer web page. Is this possible? If so, how the heck do you do it? Is there a better way to get my ps6 pages into html format? Thanks all! |

The way I first started was to Make the full layout in Photoshop using layers, Then use the slice tool (was in imageready, now its in photoshop6) and slice the image and produce the rollover graphics. Then produce an html page all graphics included directly from imageready (I'm positive its possible from PS6). Then take that HTML file and open it in Dreamweaver, and go to town on it... go thru and kill all the nasty rollover code and stuff and do what you want in DW-UD hope this helps |

Well, now I have figured out what 0bah, Pixie and a few others were saying was VERY true about the way DW handles tables. So you have to juump in there and take care of that stuff in Notepad or whatever.

Thanks, I code all my web pages raw, just use the Dreamweaver as an editor. I don't know how to create a snazzy looking page from PS6 and send it over to Dreamweaver. I will keep hacking away at it. Thanks anyway..................

Try using arachnophilia or textpad or a similar text only editor. *shudders at dreamweaver*

ok here is how I do it. First. I sketch out a layout in my head. That paper stuff just wastes trees. Next, I bring the layout to photoshop to get an actual visual idea of how I want the site to look. Third. Decide whether you want to use CSS or Tables for position graphics. I don't do frames. Frames are bad unless use properly. And I have only seen on instance where frames made a site look better than CSS or Tables would have. Now have a jpg of your layout open in photoshop and start to form the layout in notepad. Finishing touches and stuff here. It could be done by just doing your entire layout/graphics in photoshop, then cutting it up in imageready, but to me, image ready goes hog wild when slicing and html. |
